The Motor Traders’ Association of New South Wales (MTA NSW) welcomes today’s announcement by the Australian Government to offer discounted loans for electric vehicles (EVs).

Thanks to the strong and consistent advocacy work done by MTA NSW, Training Services NSW announced on Friday 13th December, that Electric Vehicle apprenticeship qualifications will now be available.

The Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct (The Code) is set for a significant update, with the draft expected to be released in early 2025. The updated Code aims to improve collaboration between the insurance and repair sectors while addressing key industry concerns.

The Motor Traders’ Association of New South Wales (MTA NSW), in partnership with the Motor Trades Association of Australia (MTAA) and other state associations, has successfully achieved a historic milestone for Australia’s automotive industry with the formal recognition of Electric Vehicle (EV) Technicians under the new Australian Government's Occupation Standard Classification (OSCA).

Our training team participated in our end-of-year 'Train the Trainer' event. During these sessions, we reviewed and updated training materials, with a strong focus on compliance. We also engaged in collaborative activities that explored best practices in training and employer interactions.
