MTA NSW Partners with WorldSkills Australia for 2025 National Championships.

We're thrilled to partner with WorldSkills Australia for the upcoming National Championships, reinforcing a commitment to fostering the next generation of automotive professionals. A group of MTA NSW apprentices will also travel to Brisbane to compete against Australia’s best emerging talent.
This partnership is a reflection of our dedication to creating opportunities that showcase the possibilities of a career in the automotive industry, while promoting the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
As a leading industry body, we provide unmatched advocacy, business support, and industry-leading training. At a time when the industry faces a critical skills shortage and undergoes rapid transformation - particularly with the rise of electric vehicles and the need for specialised skill sets - our association is committed to raising the profile of the automotive sector.

Recently, this commitment was further highlighted at the WorldSkills Australia Partner Networking event held in Sydney on March 19th. Anthony Tomassetti, our Continuous Improvement Manager, was invited to join a discussion panel, providing a valuable platform to emphasise the significant impact MTA NSW has on the training industry. This event provided an excellent opportunity to reinforce the value of our partnership with WorldSkills Australia for the upcoming National Championships.
Stavros Yallouridis, our CEO, says “Our involvement with WorldSkills not only highlights the high calibre of our training but also allows us to give back and invest in the future careers of our talented trainees. By supporting these apprentices on a national stage, we hope to inspire school leavers to consider the automotive industry as a rewarding and future-proof career choice.”
“Through this partnership, we are proud to strengthen the industry’s workforce, ensuring the next generation is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an evolving landscape. Our representatives have our full support, and we look forward to seeing them showcase their skills.”
