Government Rebates Now Available for EV Charger Installations

The automotive industry is receiving a boost thanks to DRIVEN, a new rebate program from the Federal Government. This rebate was negotiated between MTAA (with major contributions from MTA NSW and other state associations) and the Federal Government to provide financial assistance for dealers and repairers to install EV chargers in workshops and dealerships.

The DRIVEN Charger Rebate is a significant step towards expanding Australia's EV charging infrastructure.
By making it easier for businesses to install chargers, the program aims to:

- Support the automotive sector in its transition towards a more electric future.

- Increase the number of EV charging stations across the country, making EV ownership a more convenient option for Australians.

Details of the Rebate Program:

- Up to $2,500 per eligible charger, with a maximum total rebate of $20,000 per business.

- The $40 million program is part of the Driving the Nation Fund.

- Applications are open now and run until April 30, 2028.
